 In 1990 a man by the name of Bruce Moore from the Uniting Church identified the need for a shelter to be established in Hervey Bay to accommodate homeless and marginalized young people and it was with this in mind that the idea of Youthcare Hervey Bay Inc. was conceived.Today Youthcare Hervey Bay Inc receives funding from the Department of Communities and receives referrals from the Department of Child Safety, Police, Schools, Churches, Families self-referrals and other services in the Wide Bay area. It can now be truly said that Bruce Moore’s dream of establishing a service for young people has become a reality. |
